Fans have called for a superfight between Ilia TOPURIA and Islam Makhachev after his recent win of the welterweight world title.
Islam Makhachev won the UFC 322 title for welterweight just over a week before. He defeated Jack Della Maddalena to claim the title.
Fans have demanded a fight between Makhachev, despite taking over a new division, and Ilia, the newly crowned lightweight champion.
And following the Russian’s win, Topuria reacted by labeling his performance as ‘boring’ continuing their bitter feud.

Makhachev exposes issue that may prevent Topuria battle
Makhachev has always been regarded as a heavyweight, so his announcement that he would be moving up to 170lbs was not surprising.
However, despite having moved up in weight, the 34-year-old has remained open to a potential clash against ‘El Matador’ especially as the Spaniard has continued to claim he would move up to 170lbs for it.
The UFC fan base would prefer that the fight take place at the 155lb weight limit, as it would make for a more fair matchup.
Unfortunately, though, Makhachev has detailed the issue surrounding that, potentially stating that he won’t ever move back down to lightweight.
“It would have to be a very good offer for me to start cutting back to 155lbs, because I’m not young in this sport anymore, and every weight cut takes years off your health, it’s not as easy as before to cut weight,”He said this in a recent scrum of the media.

The fight between Makhachev, Topuria, and their respective teams is not getting any closer.
