Stand-in skipper Charlie Dean guided England as the hosts continued their unbeaten start to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup with a 38-run victory over Scotland at Headingley.Sophia Dunkley and Sophie Ecclestone starred for England and, despite the Scots putting up a fight, the hosts sealed a comfortable win to close in on the semi-finals.
Dunkley was dropped on six, 43 and 45 as she amassed 57 off 37 balls in her first appearance of the tournament after replacing England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, who has reinjured her left calf and will also miss Wednesday’s game against West Indies at Lord’s.

Alice Capsey smacked 40, while Freya Kemp (39) and Dani Gibson (30) launched some incredible late power-hitting with 61 runs off 21 balls to aid England to score 70 runs in the last six overs.
The hosts left Ecclestone (2-23) to do the damage with the ball as she became the fifth bowler to claim 150 wickets in T20 internationals.
Darcey Carter (29) and Katherine Fraser (23) made a solid start for the Saltires with Sarah Bryce hitting 34 off 24.They put on a determined showing with the bat, albeit, it was not enough, despite their highest score in chase of a total as they reached 162-7.
