Ian Machado Garry has cut out his ex-teammate ahead of his title fight at UFC 330.
After several months of calling for a title fight, Ian Machado Garry‘s wish was finally granted earlier this week when Dana White announced that the Irishman will take on Islam Makhachev at UFC 330.
The Irishman has been on an impressive run since suffering his first ever loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov, beating both Carlos Prates and Belal Muhammad.
And a huge part of that success came when ‘The Future’ made a big change to his training routine and base.
Machado Garry unhappy with ex-teammate after training footage was leaked
Machado Garry used to train at Kill Cliff fc in Florida, under the tutelage of Henri Hooft, but in 2023, he opted to make a change.
That was when ‘The Future’ moved his base to Brazil where he began training at Chute Boxe with the likes of Charles Oliveira.
Since then, Machado Garry has had somewhat of a falling out with his former teammate and undefeated PFL featherweight, Alexei Pergande.
Not long ago, Makhachev’s manager Ali Abdelaziz posted videos online of Machado Garry being out-wrestled and out-grappled in training by Pergande.
And that is seemingly where Machado Garry and Pergande’s relationship fell apart.
“This video of me taking down Ian Machado Garry is getting blown completely out of proportion,” Pergande said in a video on his TikTok.
“Ian Machado Garry’s wall work and grappling, wrestling in general has evolved so much since then and not to mention, it’s literally training.
“This is what training is for to get put into bad positions and then work your way out and become better. And screw all of you casuals for blowing this out of proportion, you made Ian Machado Garry unfollow me.”

Machado Garry went on to reply to a fan who asked why he unfollowed Pergande by claiming that he asked the featherweight not to film their training but he continued to do so anyway.
“Because he filmed me without permission and then secretly kept filming me after I asked him to stop,” Garry said.
“I didn’t think the day that Ian Machado Garry lying about me would come… None of that was true, I’m not really sure why he’s lying which that never happened… I guess it’s just bad timing… I don’t respect people who lie about my name,” Pergande responded.
