UFC fans aren’t too pleased with the rumors circulating regarding the UFC 332 main event.
On October 3, the premier promotion returns to Salt Lake City for another numbered event, as UFC 322 lands in the ‘Crossroads of the West’.
Earlier this Tuesday morning, the first seven fights were announced for the card, including big matchups involving Payton Talbott, Marvin Vettori and Johnny Walker.
And now, rumors are suggesting that the main event could be an interim light heavyweight title fight while Carlos Ulberg still sits out injured.
Rumors of a Jiri Prochazka vs Paulo Costa interim title fight have fans complaining
After pulling off the miraculous win over Jiri Prochazka earlier this year at UFC 327, Ulberg immediately underwent surgery for a torn ACL.
That left the division in an immediately precarious position considering their fight was already a vacant title fight.
Since then, though, there have been talks of the UFC potentially implementing another interim title in an attempt to keep the division moving.
And when asked about it just a month ago, UFC boss Dana White said it is ‘very possible’ that the promotion adds an interim title.
That has led to rumors suggesting that UFC 332’s main event could be between Jiri Prochazka and Paulo Costa, with the two having recently traded barbs online.
Prochazka recently claimed that he is already a few weeks into his fight camp, suggesting that his next outing will come sooner rather than later.
Fight fans aren’t too pleased with the prospect of that fight, though, and the idea of another interim title in the 205lb division has turned fans off immediately.
The rumor is Jiri Prochazka vs Paulo Costa for a interim LHW belt at UFC 332If that’s true the UFC has fallen into a state of disrepair. Having fraudulent nonsensical title fights for the sake of filling main eventsMight be time to abandon the sport. That would make 0 sense— MMA Joey (@MMAJOEYC) August 18, 2026
“Yeah, that’s stupid as f—,” another fan agreed.
“Jiri gets KO’d brutally by a disabled man with one leg and gets a title shot, holy s—,” a third fan commented.
“The UFC is mostly fine. The LHW and heavy divisions are really weak. LHW with Jones, Cormier era was great. If now the answer is Jiri and Paulo, no thank you. I know how not to watch,” another fan said.
“Ulberg is progressing though, why an interim belt? Also Jiri shouldn’t be in the interim fight… he had his chance. Ulberg…
