The Kansas City Chiefs have been the AFC West champions for nine seasons in a row. The Denver Broncos are more halfway to ending that streak but can take their biggest step yet in that endeavor with a win this weekend against Patrick Mahomes & Co. in the Mile High City.The Broncos (8-2) sit atop a highly competitive AFC West that also houses the 7-3 Chargers and the 5-4 Chiefs, but Denver is hoping their mini-bye will help to get its offense back on track. Kansas City Rashee rice has been a huge contributor to the Chiefs’ success in recent weeks. In just three games, Rice has scored four touchdowns and accumulated 233 scrimmage yards. Chiefs rank fifth overall in NFL offensive success rates. Although they are 16th in explosive plays, this is still a big improvement on last year’s struggles. But the Denver defense is fast and well-coached and this makes for a fantastic matchup. His aggressiveness on the field is meant to counteract this tendency. Nix has a lot of pressure on him because the Chiefs have the highest press coverage rate in the NFL. They are also very strong against the run. The Broncos have a 6-2 record in games decided by one score, which is tied with the NFL’s most wins.
