Netflix will enter the mixed martial arts world with a huge event on Saturday night.
Having made a splash in the boxing space, the streaming giant will look to repeat that feat in MMA, starting with the May 16 event in Inglewood, California.
Headlining will be Ronda Rousey’s comeback against Gina Carano, which will close out a stacked Most Valuable Promotions card that also features a number of other ex-UFC stars like Nate Diaz, Francis Ngannou, and Mike Perry.

Saturday’s event takes place at standard times for United States viewers, and will require some dedication and lack of sleep for those across the pond.
Fans in the United Kingdom are looking at the same early morning start time for the MVP MMA 1 main card that they are used to for UFC events.

The main card, featuring the returns of Rousey, Diaz, and Ngannou, will be streamed exclusively on Netflix for those with subscriptions.
Before venturing into the MMA space, the streaming platform has already staged a number of boxing events, starting with Jake Paul’s controversial clash with Mike Tyson. Most recently, Tyson Fury beat Arslanbek Makhmudov on Netflix in his comeback from retirement.

Who is fighting at MVP MMA 1?
MMA comebacks for Rousey, Ngannou, and Diaz are drawing most of the attention in the lead-up to Saturday’s event at the Intuit Dome.
But there are plenty of other notable names and intriguing matchups on the card.
Among the nine other bouts, former UFC champion Junior dos Santos will battle Olympic medalist Robelis Despaigne, Adriano Moraes will compete outside of ONE Championship for the first time in 13 years, and the highly touted Salahdine Parnasse will make his United States debut.
