    Kayla Harrison’s manager asked UFC to have a backup because of doubt Amanda Nunes will

    UFC 324 is the date for this highly anticipated battle between former teammates.

    Before Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje collide for an interim lightweight title in the main event, Kayla Harrison vs. Amanda Nunes will co-headline the promotion’s debut event on Paramount+ next January.

    The first undisputed title fight to take place on the streaming platform will see the consensus women’s GOAT return to action, as Nunes challenges ex-teammate Harrison for the bantamweight belt that she vacated upon a short-lived retirement in 2023.

    Harrison is looking to boost her chances of becoming the GWOAT by adding the Brazilian’s name to her résumé. But despite Dana White announcing the fight as official, the champion’s manager may still not be convinced that it will reach the cage…

    Ali Abdelaziz requested a backup fighter for Kayla Harrison’s title defense against Amanda Nunes

    Nunes’ comeback was discussed soon after her retirement in 2023. Her return was set when she faced Harrison, the UFC 316 winner this past June.

    But Ali Abdelaziz has not seen enough to become confident that the ‘Lioness’ will follow through.

    Speaking a few weeks before the fight was announced for UFC 324, Harrison’s manager suggested that Nunes was seeking attention and claimed to have even requested the promotion to secure a backup fighter.
