Josh Hokit has been attempting to get in the head of Alex Pereira for a few months now.
A few weeks ago, Josh Hokit pulled off the biggest win of his career thus far when he knocked out Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250, on the lawn of the White House.
Throughout fight week, ‘The Incredible Hok’ continued to attempt to get into the head of Alex Pereira, who went on to lose his title fight against Ciryl Gane, in which he has since protested due to back of the head strikes.
But despite Pereira gaining a lot of support in his tirade against veteran referee Herb Dean, Hokit is one of the only fighters attempting to defend the 55-year-old.
Hokit continues defense of Herb Dean
After coming under fire after UFC Freedom 250, Dean once again found himself embroiled in controversy this past Saturday at UFC Baku.
After allowing Shara Magomedov to pull the hair of Michel Pereira several times, a petition was made to have Dean banned from officiating in the UFC, which was backed by both Pereira’s.
UFC boss Dana White refused to make comment about the veteran referee, stating that it isn’t his decision whether he is stopped from officiating.
But despite the ongoing criticism against Dean, the aforementioned Hokit has jumped to the defense of him, claiming that he is the best referee in the game.
“The best referee in the game,” Hokit wrote on X.

After his loss to Gane, Pereira requested that Dean never officiates any of his fights in the sport in the future, and he is not the first to have made that request.
Hokit, though, specifically requested that Dean does referee his next fight, likely in an attempt to troll his rival, ‘Poatan’, who he is continuously attempting to goad into a fight.
That isn’t the only way the 28-year-old is attempting to get into Pereira’s head, as he has also brought up the Brazilian’s past problems with alcohol, claiming that when he beats him, he will turn him into ‘an alcoholic’.
