Highlights from Liverpool’s win against Brighton in the Premier League
Hugo Ekitike has now scored seven Premier League goals. Erling Haaland is the only player to have scored more open-play goals than the Eintracht Frankfurt summer signing.
Ekitike was able to make a significant impact on the game at Anfield despite Mohamed Salah being an early replacement. Ekitike’s seven shots in the box and 12 touches were both Premier League weekend records.

Hugo Ekitike was suffering from cramps late in the match between Liverpool and Brighton
Arne Slot remarked that he had been substituted after appearing to have cramp. “I can tell you that he has done twice as much work as he did in the games at the start of the season, when I took him off because a cramp set in.”
Stats on Ekitike’s sprints confirm this. Opta reports that he made 25 sprints at high intensity against Brighton. Opta reports that it was the most he’s ever done in any Premier League match, surpassing his previous record of 24 he set against Leeds.
