    Former Bournemouth star suffers broken neck as match abandoned and club issues update


    Former Bournemouth midfielder Wes Fogden broke two vertebrae while playing for the FA Trophy at the weekend. Fogden was injured while playing for Dorchester Town against Basingstoke Town. The match had to be abandoned. Later, they confirmed that the match was going to be replayed Tuesday night.The non-league club announced that the FA Trophy match at Basingstoke Town was abandoned yesterday due to a serious injury sustained by Magpies coach/player @wesfogden12 during the first half. However, he left the club when they reached the Premier League.The Cherries posted on social media, “Wishing You All the Best, Wes.” Dorchester, who are in the Southern League Premier Division and play in the FA Trophy’s third qualifying round, received messages of support from other clubs. Basingstoke won a narrow 2-1 win over Shaftesbury to get into the first round. They both beat Bideford by 4-0 margins. Last year, Aldershot Town won the FA Trophy by beating Spennymoor Town by 3-0 at Wembley.
