Belal Muhammad vs Gabriel Bonfim prediction: Fans split by just three votes in razor close

Fans are split on who comes out on top later today in the main event of UFC Vegas 118.

On June 6, Belal Muhammad faces Gabriel Bonfim at the Meta Apex in a welterweight crossroads matchup.

Muhammad has had to overcome some adversity in recent times, having suffered back-to-back losses since he won the 170-pound gold in 2024.

Voting was close but it seems like more fans still expect the former UFC champion to have enough left in the tank to make his next opponent ‘Remember the Name’.

Fans slightly lean towards Belal Muhammad returning to the win column at UFC Vegas 118

On UFC Vegas 118 fight day, the votes were added up after fans gave their predictions for the main event.

Similar to how bookmakers have seen this matchup, fans seemingly found this bout a difficult one to pick, with the final outcome coming down to just three votes.

54.55% ended up siding with Belal Muhammad to break his two-fight skid and return to the win column by defending his spot in the welterweight rankings.

However, Gabriel Bonfim extending his winning streak wouldn’t come as much of a surprise either, with the Brazilian receiving 45.45% of the votes (at the time of writing).

While the 28-year-old Bonfim is one of the welterweight division’s most exciting rising contenders, he has suffered defeat inside the Octagon before.

The initial momentum he built up with consecutive submission wins took a hit in 2023 when he was stopped by Nicolas Dalby in São Paulo.

He’s since rebounded with a four-fight streak, beating the likes of Stephen Thompson and Randy Brown to emerge as a serious threat.

The big question heading into this matchup is how the explosive Bonfim will deal with the constant pressure and wrestling threat of Muhammad.

He’s only ever been taken down by one opponent inside the Octagon, Ange Loosa, who got Bonfim down on four occasions but was only able to record 2:35 of control time before losing a unanimous decision.
