Nate Diaz claims he ‘started a whole division’ as he signals 2026 UFC comeback for title

Nate Diaz has suggested he will return to the UFC later this year.

The MMA fan favorite brought his 15-year UFC run to an end after submitting Tony Ferguson in September 2022.

Since then, Nate Diaz has gone 1-1 in big boxing bouts against Jorge Masvidal and Jake Paul.

Now, the 40-year-old fight legend has teased a return to MMA’s premier promotion for a title fight.

Nate Diaz wants another BMF title shot

On Wednesday, Nate Diaz shared a video of him calling out Jorge Masvidal after beating Anthony Pettis in August 2019.

That moment ultimately led to the UFC creating a BMF belt for their fight four months later.

Masvidal was crowned the inaugural BMF champion when he won by TKO (doctor stoppage) at UFC 244.

Diaz’s latest post on X – formerly known as Twitter – suggests he wants another crack at the symbolic belt.

“Let’s not act like I didn’t start a whole division bringing value to all these guys claiming they’re it.” he tweeted.

“I gave opportunity and put notice on the dopest fights I got unfinished business, and I plan on going and taking what’s mine asap 1st to ever start a division and the dopest one at that.

    “You’re welcome motherf—ers. I’ll see you soon, I’m coming.”

Max Holloway vs Charles Oliveira 2

In 2026, Max Holloway holds the symbolic belt and is preparing to defend it against Charles Oliveira.

They’ll rematch in the main event of UFC 326, which takes place in Las Vegas on March 7.

Oliveira was booed out of the cage and labeled a ‘quitter’ after his first fight with Holloway.

In August 2015, they met in a highly anticipated main event that came to a disappointing end after just 99 seconds.

Oliveira suffered a minor neck injury when he shot for a takedown and ran right into the Octagon wall.

Holloway hit ‘Do Bronx’ with two body shots before he crumbled to the floor, and the referee stepped in.

Nate Diaz is hoping he’ll get to face the winner of Holloway vs Oliveira 2 for the BMF title.
