RAF bosses break silence on Khamzat Chimaev and Dillon Danis’ post-match chaos at RAF10

RAF Wrestling bosses Chad Bronstein and Eric Bischoff were not thrilled with the brawl after their main event.

Despite Bischoff’s infamous ‘controversy creates cash’ catchphrase from back in his WCW days, he branded it ‘not a good situation at all’ during a post-show press conference. Khamzat Chimaev and Dillon Danis’ kicking at one another caused an all-out brawl when their very quick match was finished.

Chimaev had won a tech fall within less than 50 seconds over Danis, who proceeded to go for a choke from his BJJ background. He refused to let go of the hold, leading to an altercation between the pair and their teams spilling on to the mat.

“We talked to both of them prior to the match and said ‘keep all wrestling on the stage, there should not be anyone getting on that stage. The show was amazing before we got to that issue and the wrestling world deserves wrestling which is what we’re here to provide, right?

“So to answer your question; no, we didn’t want that. We’re ten shows in and that has happened once, now twice. We have to make sure again any time one of these matches happens that security is even bigger so we don’t have that situation.

“Since the last time Arman has wrestled how many times? And we haven’t had any situations, so that was not good.”

Bischoff then added: “It was not a good situation at all. Listen, we’re committed to being family-friendly combat sports. There’s such good will in the sport of wrestling across the board so that’s what we want to…
