One of the biggest women’s fights of all time goes down at UFC 322.
The co-main UFC 322 event this weekend will see Valentina Shevchenko, the pound-for -pound champion and current champ of the flyweight division, defend her title against Zhang Weili, the pound-for -pound #2 ranked fighter.
Zhang, after three consecutive title defenses, gave up her strawweight belt this year to try and become a double-division champion in the 125 lb division.
Shevchenko defended her title successfully for the eighth time against Manon Frot in UFC 315, held on May.
The fight for Saturday is now official after both women reached championship weight on Friday morning.
While her services wouldn’t be needed, a former champion thought about being a back-up fighter for the title fight.
