Yoel Romero breaks Alex Nicholson’s jaw in wild and vicious 70-second bare knuckle MMA

Yoel Romero’s insane late-career run continued tonight in Miami as he viciously knocked out Alex Nicholson within 70 seconds in a bare knuckle MMA fight.

Jorge Masvidal was the mastermind behind another edition of Gamebred FC, which featured a full card of action at the Unrivaled Arena in Miami. Romero was due to face fellow aging veteran Hector Lombard in the main event, but mercifully he withdrew before fight night.

Instead, former UFC and PFL star Nicholson stepped up to the plate, and looked to be doing well in the opening minute before being taken down and brutally stopped. It marked the American’s fourth straight defeat across disciplines, all by first round knockout.

Yoel Romero vs Alex Nicholson Gamebred FC result

Yoel Romero has been consistently outrageous during the last few years since leaving Bellator amid their merger with PFL. He seems to appear on all sorts of cards, from bare knuckle boxing to Dirty Boxing to RAF Wrestling, with controversy following him regularly.

This is his fifth time competing across disciplines in the last 11 months, without mentioning his infamous pullouts at BKFC and RAF.

This time around, it was the turn of bare knuckle MMA to take up the Olympic silver medalist’s time. Luckily he didn’t end up getting in the cage with Hector Lombard, who is a very different 48-years-old to Romero’s 49 and was brutally knocked out within 20 seconds the last time he got in a ring.

Alex Nicholson vs Yoel Romero was a sick 70 seconds of fighting where The Spartan was all over The Soldier of GodUntil he wasn’t. All it took was one takedown and 1 punch (not the shitty cartoon) and Nicholson’s jaw was DONE FOR @GamebredFC pic.twitter.com/ib4tKdR5eq— “Filthy” Tom Lawlor (@FilthyTomLawlor) May 2, 2026

Unfortunately, Alex Nicholson had to bear the brunt of Romero’s force this time around, and he suffered a gruesome injury as a result. He actually looked good in the opening minute, putting Romero down with a well-timed leg kick counter.

But when the Cuban picked him up with a rare use of his Olympic-level wrestling, it was game over shortly after. His first ground and pound shot broke his rival’s jaw, forcing a verbal submission right on the 70 second mark.
