Conor McGregor has told Islam Makhachev that he is coming for his title in an effort to win the unprecedented UFC ‘triple crown’.
McGregor was the first person to ever win two UFC championships simultaneously in 2016, at Madison Square Garden. Makhachev also won his second UFC title in welterweight at UFC 322 by defeating Jack Della Maddalena.
There has been a years-long feud between McGregor and Makhachev’s best friend Khabib Nurmagomedov that has spilled out to their countrymen over time. The Irishman insists he just wants to win the belt and even offered his bitter rival an unusual compliment for his recent victory.

Conor McGregor should return to octagon this summer at the UFC White House, marking almost five years after his last fight. He won his last fight in the octagon back in January 2020. However, he still has world title aspirations.
It would be a cherry on top if Islam Makhachev and I could settle their nearly decade long feud. In an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, the Irishman said he wants to win a title before launching his campaign for a new one.
