Tim Henman thinks the Masters 1000 event to be held in Saudi Arabia starting in 2028 is a great event. However, he questions why a tournament of this kind has not been organized on grass. Saudi Arabia hosts the WTA Finals along with the Next Gen ATP Finals. They also host the Six Kings Slam Exhibition.
Saudi Arabia has now achieved a significant goal, by receiving a coveted place on the Masters calendar. This is the highest level in the men’s Tour.
The exact date of the event is still to be determined but ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi believes that it could take place in February when Doha and Dubai are already hosting tournaments.
Henman, a six-time Grand Slam semifinalist, told Sky Sports that he was excited by the idea of a Saudi Masters 1000.
The date on the calendar was a bit difficult but I am sure that once the Saudi 1,000 is running, it will be an amazing event.”

Elena Rybakina has won the WTA Finals in Riyadh. However, the tournament attracted a sparse audience to the King Saud University venue with a 4,200 capacity.
If you have the top male players, I am sure that the fans will be there to watch.When you consider what Saudi Arabia has done in terms of investing in different sports, the prize money is sure to be comparable with other Masters 1000 events.
