Oscar Diaz sees launchpad in upsetting Nikita Tszyu

    (No Limit Boxing)

Oscar Diaz has vowed to transform his career when on Wednesday he fights Nikita Tszyu.
The Spaniard has travelled for the first time in his so-far-16-fight career to be Tsyzu’s opponent at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre in Newcastle, Australia, and enters by some distance his highest-profile fight.
Tszyu, 28 and of Australia, was being manoeuvred towards world level at 154lbs with January’s catchweight contest against his compatriot Michael Zerafa until it ended in a controversial no contest that has forced him to take an alternative route.
That Wednesday’s contest is on pay-per-view in Australia is a reflection of the hopes surrounding him, and the also-undefeated Diaz – 25 years old – is aware that he can potentially hijack that progress for himself.
“I’m very privileged to be here [in Newcastle],” he said. “I’ve been received very, very well, and I’m looking forward to going home with a lot of people knowing who I am.
“I’ve watched all his fights, and he’s never faced a man like me. He’s got nothing on me. I’m going to go all the limit, and I’m going to take him out early.”
Diaz has also spoken of using Wednesday’s fight to secure a future date with Nikita’s older and higher-in-profile brother Tim, who on July 25 in Sydney fights Errol Spence.
“After Wednesday, they’re going to be calling it ‘Diazcastle’ [Not ‘Tszyucastle’],” he also said.
