Mike Tyson once received advice from Muhammad Ali moments before delivering one of the most impressive performances of his career against Larry Holmes.
The two boxing icons were also linked in another way, as Holmes wasn’t the only opponent that they both competed against inside the ring.
Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champion ever by beating Trevor Berbick in 1986, avenging another of Ali’s prior losses in the process.

Trevor Berbick protested while having his legs kicked out by pro wrestler Nobuhiko Takada in 1991
Five years on from his historic loss to Mike Tyson, Trevor Berbick accepted a one-off exhibition match that saw him fly to Tokyo to take on a Japanese pro wrestler.
He was under the assumption, as he later protested, that his clash with Nobuhiko Takada would be contested under international kickboxing rules.
This meant that his opponent wouldn’t be able to kick him below the waist, which is exactly what started happening once the bell rang at UWF-I Kakutogi Sekaiichi.
