Max Holloway says Conor McGregor is ‘already behind’ at UFC 329 if he buys into false

Max Holloway isn’t buying into the idea that Conor McGregor only has one way to win.

Holloway hopes that a trilogy with McGregor can happen later this year if he finally gets his revenge in their rematch on July 11.

Their first fight in 2013 produced a rare instance of ‘The Notorious’ relying on his grappling to secure the win due to an injury he suffered early on in the bout.

Despite the way that Holloway lost his BMF title earlier this year, fans aren’t expecting to see McGregor implement that same approach, but his opponent isn’t ruling out any option.

“Then everybody keeps talking about his leg, but I think Conor kicks so at the end of the day, there’s a lot more than just his left hand. If Conor is thinking only his left hand, then he’s already behind in the fight.”

LATEST NEWS: Alexander Volkanovski says Max Holloway can’t afford to adopt old style in Conor McGregor prediction

As Holloway said, McGregor took him down four times in their first meeting, recording nearly six and a half minutes of control time to grind out a unanimous decision win.

Up until his most recent fight against one of the best grapplers in the history of the sport, we haven’t seen the former featherweight and BMF champion struggle with being taken and held down since.

Holloway has changed a lot since losing to McGregor, having responded by putting together a 13-fight win streak that only ended when he went up to lightweight while still holding the featherweight…
