The interim lightweight champion isn’t being given a chance by Colby Covington.
Ever since the UFC Freedom 250 main event between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje was announced, ‘The Highlight’ has been counted out by the majority of the MMA world.
According to the reaction online, he hasn’t made matters much better for himself after he made comments regarding Topuria’s personal life, which has led to a war of words between the two.
And despite having received some late backing from his fellow UFC White House star, Diego Lopes, one fighter who isn’t giving ‘The Highlight’ a chance is Colby Covington.

Going into his third undisputed lightweight title fight, the 37-year-old is the biggest underdog he has ever been throughout his career.
The interim champion is currently priced at +425, which he was surprisingly priced lower when he fought Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2020.
And the aforementioned Covington understands exactly why, as he has predicted that Topuria will ‘flatline’ Gaethje and ‘make him a meme forever’.
“He’s not just gonna beat duck lip Gaethje, he’s gonna humiliate him, Justin Gaethje is about to become a meme forever and I’m excited, I’m here for it, I can’t wait to see it,” Covington told Submission Radio.
“We’ve never had a good relationship… So after Ilia Topuria exposes him and they have to take his carcass off the South Lawn, he should come over to RAF and get his ass beat on the wrestling mat by me as well.”

‘Chaos’ is solely focusing on wrestling under the Real American Freestyle banner after recently notifying the UFC about his decision to retire.
The former interim welterweight champion is scheduled to take on another UFC lightweight at RAF 11 when he takes on Arman Tsarukyan.
And once he is done with ‘Ahalkalakets’, he wants a match against ‘The Highlight’, who does have an extensive background in wrestling, despite the style he has adopted in MMA.
“(Gaethje) is an all-American wrestler, we wrestled in the same conference in college so I’d love to see Justin Gaethje on the wrestling mats of RAF when he gets knocked out, exposed and flatlined by Ilia Topuria… God bless you, brother, America…
