Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua drew a massive viewership and record-setting ticket sales, but failed to become the biggest fight of the year.
Back in September, Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford’s undisputed super-middleweight title fight at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas drew a whopping 41.1million viewers. While Paul and Joshua came close, they didn’t quite hit the mark as 33million has been reported by Netflix as their official number.
They did, however, trend worldwide on social media and broke the gate record for boxing at Miami’s Kaseya Center. But after a lengthy build-up and with both men making massive eight-figure purses, some may view the event as having come in below expectations.

The headline is that the main event scored an estimated average minute audience (AMA) of 33million Live+1 viewers globally from opening to closing bell, per VideoAmp and Netflix. Alycia Baumgardner v Leila Beaudoin in the co-main event drew in an estimated AMA of 15million Live +1 viewers globally.
