Jake Paul and Mike Tyson’s official purses for Netflix clash revealed as much less than

An official signed bout contract between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson has been listed for auction – revealing that the pair made just $2 million as a guaranteed purse.

It has never been officially reported what either man made for the 2024 super-fight, which attracted 108 million viewers on Netflix. However, the generally accepted story is that Paul – whose Most Valuable Promotions put on the event – pocketed $40 million while Tyson made around $20 million.

However, Goldin Auctions are now listing a set of contracts that both men are verified to have signed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. And on that document, both are listed as being paid $2 million by the event’s promoter.

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson official contract reveals $2 million guaranteed purse

The 2024 showdown between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson may have flattered to deceive in the ring, but there is no doubting its cultural relevance and box office success. Over 108 million watched live legally, while 72,300 fans filed into AT&T Stadium resulting in a gate of over $18.1 million.

“In consideration of the contestant participating in the above described contest, promoter promises to pay the contestant $2 million,” one part of the contract reads.

One well-known example would be Islam Makhachev being paid just $150,000 to defend his lightweight title against Renato Moicano at UFC 311 last year as far as the California State Athletic Commission are concerned.

In 2017, Conor McGregor very famously made over $100 million for fighting Floyd Mayweather, who pocketed close to triple that amount. However, their disclosed purses with the Nevada State Athletic Commission were $30 million and $100 million…
