Just days after Sean Strickland defeated Khamzat Chimaev it was announced that the former middleweight champion was to face Dillon Danis in RAF Wrestling.
Chimaev and Danis have been booked for RAF10 on June 13, the night before the UFC White House card. And Strickland didn’t seem too fussed about the fight, laughing it off during a recent stream with Nina Drama.
Strickland dethroned Chimaev and handed him his first defeat in the cage at UFC 328. Now, he has joked at how quickly his rival ‘has fallen’ into being matched up with a man known more for trolling and social media than fighting in recent years.

Sean Strickland laughs off Khamzat Chimaev vs Dillon Danis matchup
During Saturday night’s Brand Risk Promotions event in Las Vegas, Sean Strickland appeared on Nina Drama’s Kick stream. Throughout the undercard, he provided his own inimitable brand of alternate commentary for the night’s fights, and interacted with the chat.
He was asked how he felt about the Khamzat Chimaev and Dillon Danis bout. He laughed at the idea and replied “Oh how they have fallen,” in response to his old rival almost immediately going from a UFC main event for a world title to a match with the BJJ champion.
“I feel bad for that one,” he joked. “They’re probably paying them well.” Nina noted that she would be watching, and the chat asked if Strickland had any advice given that he was the only man able to beat Chimaev in the octagon.
Strickland implored Danis to ‘just train,’ adding that he worries the unbeaten MMA fighter is “the kind of guy who’s a professional troll.”
