    Former UFC star claims Justin Gaethje saved Paddy Pimblett from being ‘torched’ in future

    Former UFC star Jorge Masvidal believes it’s a good thing that Paddy Pimblett didn’t leave UFC 324 with the interim lightweight title.

    This past Saturday in the UFC 324 main event, Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje clashed for the interim lightweight title, with the winner earning a shot at Ilia Topuria‘s undisputed title.

    After five extremely exciting rounds of action in which ‘The Highlight’ dominated the majority of, he became the first fighter in UFC history to become a two-time interim champion.

    And although ‘The Baddy’ has a well-documented feud going on with ‘El Matador’, one former star of the promotion believes ‘it’s a good thing’ that Pimblett didn’t win on Saturday night.

    Jorge Masvidal claims Pimblett would get ‘torched’ by Topuria

    Following Topuria’s knockout win over Charles Oliveira to become the new lightweight champion last year, he immediately faced off with Pimblett, which suggested that the two would clash next.

    Despite the plan having been for Topuria and Pimblett to clash in the UFC 324 main event, Topuria announced his hiatus from the sport to deal with pressing family matters.
