Merab Dvalishvili has recently put his relationship with UFC president at risk when he talked about fighting as a featherweight. He had previously been criticized because he didn’t want to fight his friend Aljamain sterling.
Recent comments from one of the two sides in the matchup have raised a similar concern about a upcoming title bout that will take place around 2026.

Nassourdine Imavov agrees with Khamzat Chimaev’s stance on them fighting for the middleweight title
Khamzat Chmaev has already announced Nassourdine Imavov, the opponent he will be facing in his first defence of the middleweight championship.
However, with the champion’s return being delayed by a foot operation, a lot could change before that matchup takes place.
Chimaev, who recently said he doesn’t plan on staying at middleweight for much longer, also admitted that he doesn’t particularly want to fight Imavov when speaking to ESPN MMA.
The two men have trained together in the past, with ‘Borz’ also pointing to the “drama”The fight would be created by him being from Chechnya, and his opponent being from Dagestan.
