Dana White’s son wanted to celebrate the historic celebration of America with something permanent.
This past Sunday, the premier MMA promotion hosted their biggest event ever with UFC Freedom 250, live from the South Lawn of the White House.
In the main event, Justin Gaethje pulled off one of the greatest upsets of all time when he finished Ilia Topuria in round 4 to finally become the undisputed lightweight champion.
The event had American fans feeling extremely patriotic, especially as ‘The Highlight’ was being widely counted out by the majority of the MMA world.

Despite the several hurdles that the promotion had to overcome, the event went perfectly for Dana White and co.
And because it was the 250th birthday of America, it had everyone feeling extremely patriotic, including White’s son.
In fact, White’s eldest son felt that amped up about the event that he was on his way to get a big tattoo of the American flag on his back before the UFC convinced him otherwise.
“My oldest son hits me up today and says, ‘Dad, don’t fight with me don’t argue with me but I want a tattoo of the American flag on my back.’,” White told TMZ Sports in an interview.
“I said, ‘You’re not f—— tattooing the American flag on your back, I’ll buy you an American flag shirt in every color and you can wear it every day for the rest of your life, you’re not tattooing the flag.’
“But that is what I was hoping to get out of this experience, for young people and just everybody, I was looking for some unity and people to be proud on the 250th birthday of America,” he continued.

Gaethje’s walkout from the Oval Office is being widely regarded as the greatest walkout in the history of combat sports.
It isn’t an event that White will be doing again anytime soon, though, as it cost the UFC an estimated $60 million, though the final figure is expected to be much higher.
