Alex Pereira reveals special addition to his corner team for UFC Freedom 250 title fight

For the first time since 2022, Alex Pereira will have a special addition to his corner team at the White House.

This coming Sunday, Alex Pereira looks to make UFC history by becoming the first three-weight champion when he takes on Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight title at UFC Freedom 250.

Ahead of his potentially history making win, UFC boss Dana White has claimed that if he pulls off the incredible feat, he will overtake Jon Jones as the greatest fighter of all time.

And he will attempt to reach GOAT status with a very special addition to his fight night corner team.

Pereira’s father will join corner team for UFC Freedom 250

Throughout almost the entirety of ‘Poatan’s’ UFC career, his corner team has been made up of three members.

Plinio Cruz, Vinicius Alves and Glover Teixeira are usually the brains in the Brazilian’s corner and up to this point, it has worked extremely well for him.

But with his fight on Sunday on the South Lawn of the White House being so significant and special, the 38-year-old will be adding his father to his fight night corner team.

“It’s definitely special to have him here, the last time he was in my corner was when I beat (Israel) Adesanya for the belt and then this time he’s also going to be in my corner,” Pereira told UFC on TNT Sports.

Ahead of his highly anticipated fight against ‘Bon Gamin’, Pereira has found himself in a bizarre feud with fellow UFC White House star Josh Hokit.

At the beginning of fight week, Hokit attempted to get a rise out of ‘Poatan’ when they bumped into each other at the fighter hotel.

The Brazilian managed to keep his cool and didn’t offer the controversial American any sort of reaction.

And then at media day this past Wednesday, Pereira made a huge claim that he has heard rumors that ‘The Incredible Hok’ will be cut from the promotion following his UFC White House fight.

Despite Pereira’s claim, Hokit came out and shut down the Brazilian, revealing that he recently signed an eight-fight deal.

That could potentially set up for a huge fight between the two if they both come out victorious on the White House lawn.
