Max Verstappen dominated the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix pole, while Lando Norris finished in second place to keep his title hopes alive. Verstappen is currently 12 points behind Norris going into the title-deciding race on Sunday. However, the Brit edged his McLaren teammates Oscar Piastri and by just three hundredths.
Norris can guarantee his first title if finishes in the top 3 on Sunday. However, he may be able to seal the title even with a less impressive result if Verstappen does not win the race.
Piastri, whose hopes of winning his first title were already dim, suffered a setback. The Australian will need major misfortune from his opponents to overcome a 16 point deficit against Norris.
