Nick Diaz, who ended his second UFC tenure with an impressive performance on this day 19 years ago, has a brief but memorable UFC career.
The Stockton star became a leading fan favorite in MMA’s leading promotion, where he challenged for gold and figured in a number of memorable fights.
But Diaz’s career inside the Octagon was certainly not without deviations. After eight fights, he competed briefly elsewhere before making an unplanned return to the UFC 62.
After Diaz had submitted Josh Neer he stayed around for another fight, before joining Pride. He went on to become the first Strikeforce light-weight champion.
