Houston Texans are looking to win their second game of the year, and first under interim coach Mike McCoy. The Titans, on the other hand, are looking to win their second game of the season — and first under interim head coach Mike McCoy. Last weekend the Texans came back from a 19 point deficit to win a miracle comeback against the Jacksonville Jaguars. That kept them firmly in the AFC wild card mix, and it seems pretty unlikely Houston will find itself trailing by 19 points again in Week 11, even through C.J. Stroud will miss his second consecutive game due to a concussion. The Texans will always have an advantage over the Titans, no matter who’s at quarterback. Tennessee had a bye-week, and so has more time to prepare. At this stage in the season the Titans must focus their efforts on getting rookie quarterback Cam Ward up to speed as quickly as possible. Ward’s second matchup with Houston will be a tough test for him. Ward threw just 108 yard and had one interception in the first game. The Texans won that round.
Where to watch Texans vs. Titans liveDate: Sunday, Nov. 16 | Time: 1 p.m. ETLocation: Nissan Stadium — Nashville, TennesseeTV: Fox | Stream: Fubo (try for free)Follow: CBS Sports AppOdds: Texans -6; O/U 37.5 (via DraftKings)Texans vs. Titans: Need to knowTexans own Nashville. Houston’s defense has been excellent in its last four road matches against Tennessee. In any of these games, the Texans did not allow more than 17 goals. The Titans offense is searching for answers. This trend could continue on Sunday, given the way that things have been going in recent weeks for both teams. Tennessee has not scored more than 17 goals this season. Some teams are bad simply because they don’t finish well when they have the lead. Some teams are bad because they can’t finish when they have the lead. The Titans fit into the second category. Tennessee is only the fourth team in history to fail to hold a fourth-quarter advantage during the first nine games. Can the Titans apply any pressure to the Texans at the end of the game? Major mismatch. This is the biggest mismatch you will see all season between the Texans offense and defense. Houston ranks first for points against and total yardage allowed in a game. Titans’ offense is last in terms of scoring and total yards. Tennessee punter Johnny Hekker should keep his leg warm.Texans vs. Titans predictions, pick
If the Texans are able to hold the Titans under 14 points, which is likely given the way the series has been going, Houston only needs 21 points to cover. Davis Mills’s performance against the Jaguars was impressive, but Nico Collins is the only Titans player capable of covering him. I’m betting on the Texans. Pick: Texans -6; Over 37.5
