Quinn, the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons at that time, confronted McDaniel in January 2016 over McDaniel’s drinking. McDaniel had been a part of Quinn’s offensive team.
McDaniel was motivated to quit drinking by an intervention. He has remained sober since then, as he climbed up the coaching ladder and landed his first head coaching position with the Dolphins 2022.
