2025 National Tight Ends Day: Packers’ Tucker Kraft saves otherwise quiet day on annual celebration

Schedule makers for the NFL have a very, very difficult job. The NFL’s schedule makers have a really, really hard job. Next year, tight ends may request a more friendly schedule for their day in the limelight. The fourth Sunday of October was quiet for National Tight Ends Day, but that wasn’t all the fault of Jimmy Garoppolo or George Kittle. With six teams on byes, we missed Trey McBride and Brock Bowers from the Cardinals as well as Sam LaPorta from Lions. T.J. Hockenson of the Vikings, along with rising rookie talent Oronde Gadsden II of the Chargers, both played on Thursday, while Travis Kelce and Zach Ertz aren’t playing until Monday in the Chiefs vs. Commanders matchup. Tucker Kraft’s 143 receiving yard performance on “Sunday Night Football” was the most by any player of any position. Football” to save the day for perhaps the most under-appreciated role in sports. Though it was a far cry from last year’s historic day, Kraft gave tight ends plenty to be proud of and leads our list of top five tight end performances Sunday.

Tucker Kraft, PackersSeven receptions, 143.5 yards, and two touchdownsKraft has become a star in our very eyes. He has the most receiving yards of any tight-end, and the most after-catch yards at this position. With the ball in hand, he is like a bull in china shop.

Kraft is too tall for cornerbacks. He’s also too fast for safeties and linebackers. The vertical threat, route runner, and physical blocker makes him a vital part of Green Bay’s offense. Three receptions, 28 yard, two touchdowns. A fitting tribute to the position.

Goedert is having an excellent season in a tumultuous Eagles’ offense. His previous career-high for a single season was five touchdowns. He gets an extra bonus for shouting his holiday.
    3. George Kittle (49ers)four receptions, a total of 43 yards, and a touchdown. Kittle was a fitting No. Last year, he was ranked No. 1 with six catches of 128 yards for a touchdown. Kittle had a highlight-reel performance, even though this year’s holiday was not on par with the 2024 day. San Francisco also lost that game, which dampened his favorite day.
Six receptions for 62 yards and one touchdown. Although the Browns lost 32-13 to Patriots on Sunday, they were a good example of how to celebrate National Tight Ends Day. Fannin, David Njoku and the Browns’ 156 receiving yardage were credited with both touchdowns. Not bad at all!
The third-round pick out of Bowling Green leads the Browns in both receptions (38) and receiving yards (352) this season. Third-rounder out of Bowling Green, Fannin leads the Browns this season in both receiving yards (352) and receptions (38).
