Aryna Sabalenka, world no. 1, defeated Amanda Anisimova in a battle of big-hitters 6-3 3-6 6-1 on Friday. She now faces Elena Rybakina in the WTA Finals.
In the third set, Sabalenka held for 3-3 and then won the game with an incredible backhand winner. She also survived some nervous moments towards the end of the match to beat her American opponent.

Rybakina knocks out Pegula and books place in WTA Finals Title clashEarlier, on Friday, Elena Rybakina recovered from a first-set deficit to defeat Jessica Pegula with 4-6 6-4 6-1. She now has a chance to win her season’s final title at the WTA Finals.
Pegula increased the intensity following an early exchange in the opening set. Rybakina, who had suffered a shoulder injury during her warm up a day earlier, appeared to be struggling with accuracy.
