Man Utd suffered a tough week as they lost their second game in five, ending a perfect Champions League record. Wolfsburg won 5-2 after Fridolina Rodolfo scored the first goal. The previously steadfast Man Utd defence was breached 3 times by Wolfsburg. City United conceded four goals for the first game of this season. They made it easy for their opponents to score.
Marc Skinner’s team had a bright start, taking an early lead with Rolfo’s bullet header. But after Ella Peddemors pounced on a Safia middleton-Patel’s poor clearance three minutes later Wolfsburg took control.
Man Utd showed Peddemors a generous defensive attitude as their cross was allowed to pass Middleton Patel’s near post just before halftime. And when Lineth Bierensteyn smashed home, the generosity continued.
