On Sunday, the 7-2 Philadelphia Eagles and the 6-3 Detroit Lions will meet in Week 11 to see if there is a preview of the NFC Championship. The Lions are coming off a dominant, 44-22 victory over Marcus Mariota and the Washington Commanders, while the Eagles escaped Lambeau Field with a 10-7 win over the Green Bay Packers Monday night. Both of these teams are 21-5 since the start of last season, which are the best records in the NFL. The reigning Super Bowl champion Eagles are the third team in the last 30 years to start 7-2 or better over four straight seasons, while the Lions offense hasn’t missed a step without coordinator Ben Johnson. They average 31.4 points per match, which is second only to the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL. Jared Goff has just tied Matthew Stafford with the Lions for the most 300 yard, three touchdown, zero interception games.
Where to watch Lions vs. Eagles liveDate: Sunday, Nov. 16 | Time: 8:20 p.m. ETLocation: Lincoln Financial Field — Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaTV: NBC | Stream: Fubo (try for free)Follow: CBS Sports AppOdds: Eagles -2.5; O/U 46.5 (via FanDuel)Lions vs. Eagles: Need to knowDan Campbell the play-caller. Campbell confirmed that after Week 9’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings he has taken over play-calling from John Morton. Campbell made it clear that the play-calling is still a team effort. In his debut game, the Lions had a season’s highest 546 total yards, 30 first-downs, and did not kick a ball. The Eagles are a little better at defending than the Commanders. Will rushing be the difference? It is the Lions’ first matchup with the Eagles since 2022 Week 1, when the Eagles won 38-35. In that matchup, there were seven combined rushing scores compared to only two passing ones. That could happen again, as Jahmyr Gibbs has scored 41 total touchdowns in 41 career games and Saquon Barkley is the reigning Offensive Player of the Year. He’s averaging just 64.3 rushing yards per contest and 3.9 yards per rush after averaging 125.3 rushing yards per game and 5.8 yards per rush in 2024, but you know he can turn it on at any point. A.J. Brown’s struggles. Brown’s frustrations are well documented this season. Brown caught only two of the three targets he was given for a distance of 13 yards. In eight games this season, he has caught 31 balls for 408 yard and three touchdowns. Brown’s average of 51 receiving yards is his lowest in a game. He ranks 44th entering Week 11 with this performance. He is tied for 61st place in receptions and 50th place in receiving yards. Lions vs. Eagles predictions, pick
It’s easy for you to trust the Eagles in tight games. In this matchup, I’m going with the Lions because they are the team that is more explosive. Detroit has thrived also as an underdog. CBS Sports Research reports that the Lions have been 12-6 as underdogs in the NFL over the past four seasons and 13-2 during prime time games. Campbell’s cover percentage is the highest of any coach with at least 75 games since 1970. Give me Lions to just outscore Eagles. Pick: Lions +2.5 and Over 46.5
