The strawweight goat has reached a crossroads.
At UFC 322, Zhang Weili fell short of following in Amanda Nunes’ footsteps and becoming only the second woman in history to become a two-division champion inside the Octagon.
The Chinese star took part in an eagerly anticipated super-fight, which was held inside the walls of Madison Square Garden. Weili had hoped that she would be able to add another belt to her collection but was beaten easily by Valentina Shevchenko.
Shevchenko celebrated her victory with her usual post-fight celebration after a trio of 50-45 scores showed how dominant she was.
But while the UFC 322 co-main event result left ‘Bullet’ dancing in the Octagon, it has placed ‘Magnum’ at a point of uncertainty — and perhaps conclusion?
