    UFC icon who fought Brock Lesnar, Fedor Emelianenko named someone else as hardest-hitting

    Frank Mir fought the best of the best during his legendary combat sports career.

    The 46-year-old peaked when he won the UFC heavyweight championship in June 2004.

    For the next 15 years, Frank Mir remained a top contender without claiming MMA’s greatest prize again.

    The UFC legend fought the likes of Brock Lesnar, Fedor Emelianenko, Daniel Cormier, Shane Carwin, and Junior dos Santos in his first sport. In 2021, he transitioned to boxing and traded punches with Steve Cunningham and Kubrat Pulev.

    Frank Mir was asked which opponent hit him hardest during an interview in August 2024.

    The MMA icon gave an honorable mention to Mirko Cro Cop, who may have claimed the top prize if he had managed to land more than two kicks during their fight at UFC 119 in September 2010.

    “After the fight, I remember sitting in the hotel with my wife and everyone after winning the fight by knockout. I caught him,” Mir said. “I look down at my thigh – he landed two kicks – my right thigh was twice the size of my left.

    “To the point, we actually had to call up [a doctor] because we thought I might get compartment syndrome.
