UFC fans lament ‘washed’ former champions headlining after UFC 326 BMF title announcement

UFC fans have expressed dissatisfaction with the latest announcement of the main event as the promotion prepares to enter its post-PPV era in 2019.

Some fans were so upset by the $7.7billion agreement for their first two shows in 2026 that they considered boycotting. UFC 324 is the launch of Paramount+’s new broadcast partnership and will feature a lightweight interim title fight between Paddy Pimblett vs Justin Gaethje.

While that fight is mildly controversial given the former’s lack of legitimate wins at the weight, it was the rematch between Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes that was booked for UFC 325 that really enraged them. Now, the reactions look similar to those that greeted the announcement of who will headline UFC 326.
