Tyson Fury is just days away from his return to the ring after a year and a half, but his family would rather he stayed retired.
The two-time heavyweight champion is already a near-certainty to land in the Hall of Fame when he does eventually hang up the gloves for real. But after two defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024, it remains to be seen what more he has to prove.
Now, after his father John Fury claimed that the pair have fallen out over his decision to continue fighting, his brother Tommy has also told of how he doesn’t want his sibling to continue. However, he is confident that the ‘Gypsy King’ will defeat Arslanbek Makhmudov on Saturday night in their Netflix showdown.

Tommy Fury reveals family don’t want Tyson Fury to keep fighting
Tyson Fury is not the only famous boxer in his family; his brother Tommy Fury is also a massive star owing to his notoriety from Love Island and massive pay-per-view clashes with Jake Paul and KSI. The pair have been close for years, and always attend one another’s events.
However, the younger sibling is the latest member of his family to admit that he feels that his brother’s health would benefit from giving up on fighting.
“I think if you asked any one of his family do we want to see him keeping boxing the answer would have been an all around ‘no’,” Tommy admitted to Bloody Elbow. “That’s all the way around the board because we care about his health.
“Obviously you guys are fight fans you love to see him in the ring because he brings that entertainment. But we think of his health and everything like that so listen, he’s decided to keep fighting, it’s Tyson who is a fighting man who loves to do so.
“But I guess time will tell and I think he definitely still has it in him because he wouldn’t be getting in that ring if he knew he didn’t.”

Despite his concerns for his brother’s health in the long run, Tommy Fury is confident that Tyson has enough to get through the Russian Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
“I think it’s going to be a great fight,” Tommy continued. “I think he probably could have picked an easier fight to come back against. He’s massive, he’s a man mountain with a knockout ratio and power and he’s been in some big fights before.
