    Travis Hunter injury: Two-way player done for year after season-ending surgery

    Travis Hunter has completed his rookie season. Tuesday morning, the Jaguars’ wideout/defensive backed underwent surgery to his knees. This effectively ended Hunter’s 2025 season. Hunter’s surgery involved repairing his LCL. ESPN says he will return to football in six months. The No. Hunter, the No. 2 pick overall in the April draft, was placed on injury reserve on October 31 after sustaining a non-contact injuries during practice. The Jaguars did not indicate at the time that Hunter’s injury could have a season-ending effect. Jaguars’ coach Liam Coen at the moment said: “You just feel sorry for the guy, the kid and our team.” “But right now he seems to be in a good mood.     Hunter is the current Heisman Trophy and Award Biletnikoff winner. He caught 28 targets out of 45 for 298 yards, and scored one touchdown in 7 games. Hunter had 11 tackles in defense. He also recorded three pass breakups as well as a fumble recover. Hunter had been enjoying a rise in production before getting injured as the Jaguars were trying to get him involved more on offense. In his last game against the Rams, in Week 7, he set a season high with 8 receptions on 14 targets for 101 yards and one touchdown. 

    Jacksonville will now try to win games with Hunter. The Jaguars have a 5-4 record going into Sunday’s game at home against the Chargers (7-3).
