Sound Smart: 7 Observations from NFL Sunday in Week 12

You watched the Eagles lose to the Dallas Cowboys. You watched the New England Patriots win the AFC No. You saw the New England Patriots take the No. The Chiefs saved their season by rallying late against the Colts. Let’s spin this forward, dig deeper and think out of the box to what we saw. Here’s “Sound Smart,” a show that prepares you for the Monday morning slate with seven observations. If I do my job, you’ll be fluent in the NFL’s Week 12 action.1. IF THERE’S ONLY ONE THING YOU SHOULD KNOW FROM SUNDAY …The Eagles have lost their identity, and the Cowboys are finding theirs.A.J. Brown informed us of what was going on in Philly. “A s— show,” he said.I guess I didn’t realize the extent of it. Against the Cowboys, Philly didn’t score a single point in the final 41 minutes of the game, ultimately losing 24-21 to Dallas after jumping out to a 21-0 lead.Surely, everyone will be calm. It’ll be all deep breaths and level heads. Right?OK, I’ll take a first swing at creating chaos. There’s no one person to blame for the Eagles after their embarrassing loss to the Cowboys. Brown had eight catches for 110 yards and a touchdown (so he can’t complain). Saquon Barkley looks more like Trent Richardson than the man who once was the soul and heart of this offense. Barkley had 10 carries in the final game, for a total of 22 yards. This is a significant drop from his previous 3.8 yard per carry. The Eagles committed a total of 14 penalties, the most since Nick Sirianni’s debut as the team’s head coach. The Eagles had two turnovers. They were a team without a clear identity. They couldn’t count on Saquon to save them. In addition to his inefficiencies, Saquon fumbled in the final quarter. Brown played well all game long but wasn’t a game-changer, in part because the offense couldn’t advance into the red zone in the second half.So they’ll go back to the drawing board and try to piece together what they do well and how they can use those pieces to win games when the postseason begins. With all their talent they need to figure out why they don’t score as often as they should. The Cowboys found it. Dak Prescott’s offense was explosive with his two wide receivers…
