Lando Norris has extended his championship lead with a thrilling Sao Paolo Grand Prix victory. Oscar Piastri was unable to compete and finished fifth. Norris won the Sao Paulo Grand Prix from pole to finish a perfect weekend, which included winning Saturday’s Sprint race at Interlagos. He now has a 24 point lead in the title race over his McLaren teammates Piastri with three rounds left.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen made a spectacular comeback from a pit-lane starting but was denied second by Kimi Antonelli at the thrilling final as the Mercedes driver claimed his best result in his rookie season. Verstappen’s hopes of winning a fifth consecutive drivers’ title are all but over.
