Stockport now sits at the top of Sky Bet League One after their comfortable 3-0 win away at Port Vale. Nathan Lowe, Kyle Wootton, and Jack Diamond scored in 16 minutes of the first half to help County climb from fourth to two points ahead at the summit.
Wootton doubled Hatters’ lead with his precise finish at the edge of his box 10 minutes after the opening goal. His league goal total for the year now stands at six.
Diamond then calmly slotted past Joe Gauci shortly before half-time, after he had pushed Jesse Debrah from the ball and slid it into the penalty area.
