Paddy Pimblett won’t shy away from risk in his first UFC title fight.
‘The Baddy’ has been given a controversial championship opportunity in 2026, as his interim lightweight title fight against Justin Gaethje kicks off the new year for MMA’s leading promotion.
Dana White announced Gaethje-Pimblett as UFC 324’s main event on January 24. The pair will be the first headline matchup to air on Paramount+.
The decision of Pimblett to be given a chance over the top contender Arman tsarukyan caused uproar. But the Scouser has no doubts that he will make the best of his opportunity by defeating Gaethje.

Gaethje lost the undisputed title of lightweight on two occasions. One weakness was the cause for both losses.
Gaethje, who had won the interim title of 2020, was then submitted to Khabib Nurmagomedov. In 2022, he suffered the same fate when he faced Charles Oliveira.
