LJ Martin rushed for a record-breaking 222 yards, scoring twice. 11 BYU keep its Big 12 title-game hopes alive with a 26-14 victory over Cincinnati on Saturday night.After Bearcats QB Brendan Sorsby’s 19-yard touchdown pass to WR Jeff Caldwell cut the Cougars’ lead to six points with 4:37 left, Martin had a 33-yard touchdown run to seal it for BYU (10-1, 7-2). He ran for 200 yards, the 15th in school history. Sorsby had 300 yard passing with two touchdowns. The Bearcats are in a losing streak of three. BYU QB Bear Bachmeier scored a 6-yard touchdown to put the Cougars up 7-0 early in the first half. The freshman is tied with Ronney Jensen for the second-most rushing touchdowns in program’s history. Cincinnati Manny Covey has returned a kick 57 yards from the BYU 32. Sorsby then threw a 27 yard touchdown pass to Cyrus Allen, tying the score at 7-7. Allen, who leads the Big 12, has 11 touchdowns. Bearcats’ kicker Stephen Rusnak was 12 of 13, but missed two field-goal attempts in the first half. He missed from 48 again in the third-quarter. After going seven games without an interception, Sorsby threw his first interception in three games in the early third-quarter. The Cougars capitalized on the turnover by putting together an 11-play 66-yard scoring run. Martin’s 1-yard TD run made the final score 17-7.
