Jamie Carragher says Eddie Howe is “no longer able to do anything” at Newcastle. He thinks that Eddie Howe should take the England job, if Thomas Tuchel decides to leave in the summer. Brentford overcame a deficit to win 3-1 against Newcastle at the Gtech.
Howe was under pressure to deliver after describing their performance against West Ham as “unrecognisable”. Carragher now believes that Howe has brought Newcastle as far as they can go and would love the England job if one became available following the World Cup.

Carragher said Sky Sports, “He will go down as one the greatest Newcastle managers whenever he leaves the team. Look at what he achieved when the team was bottom of their table.
“His second season in the Champions League was incredible and his League Cup final victory against [Manchester] United. The following season was another good one, and the team finished seventh.
“And then we’ll see what we saw last year: winning the League Cup, and Champions League again.
I’ve backed Eddie Howe to be the next England coach. I think Eddie Howe is the best English manager by miles.”I adore him. “I love him to bits.”I don’t see Newcastle winning the Premier League. There’s not much else he can do. It’s not simply a question about Newcastle being just two points out of the relegation zones or the manager. Newcastle has let him down.”The topsy turvy nature in which the club operates, with all its sporting directors and people working behind the scenes.”Sometimes it feels as if he’s on his own. The Saudi investment hasn’t taken off.”I get that now they can question the PSR or the rules.
