Newcastle was the team that had the greatest chance of scoring the second goal, even though Fulham remained a threat. Woltemade again released Murphy behind the Fulham defense, but this time Leno made a clever block.

Newcastle failed to heed the warnings. They were knocked back in 56th minute. Kevin, who was brought on at half time to replace Smith Rowe as Fulham’s substitute, made sure that his final cross found Raul Jimenez whose powerful shot hit the crossbar. It was a costly mistake for the home team, who had finished well, as they struggled to make the breakthrough. Newcastle’s match-winner, who won the game, said: “I am feeling unbelievable. We were tired after the Wednesday game, and I believe we needed to learn to finish games.”I am happy that we managed to score a goal in the end. In the last few matches, we’ve been punished by Arsenal and Liverpool at the very end.”My entire family is here – my mum, kids, wife – so to score at Gallowgate is very special. It’s a good moment.”We can’t play the perfect match every time, but we have to find three points. We did that today. We are all very pleased. Newcastle is what I remember. We will fight to the end.Fulham are in danger of being relegated. Analysis by Sky Sports’ Lewis Jones. Fulham have two problems. The surge of newly promoted clubs who show no fear and their own lack of quality and freshness in the final third. The fact that Fulham had 47 final third touches and 25 entries in the box of the opposition at St James’ Park was a good number. However, they did not do enough to use their territory. It’s been four losses on the trot and the pressure will mount if goals aren’t scored soon. It will test a squad that in the past has experienced stability rather than fighting for survival.
