Mike Tyson’s trainer snubbed him when naming the hardest-hitter he ever trained with

Mike Tyson is widely known as the greatest boxer ever. However, a coach who he worked with snubbed him, naming someone else as the strongest boxer he worked with.

Mike Tyson’s career was a phenomenal success. His power and rapid rise to fame made him the most feared of all fighters.

In 1986, he fulfilled his promise to Muhammad Ali to fulfill the seven-year period of time he promised. He knocked Trevor Berbick out.

Tyson was trained by Johnny Tocco in the early years of his career. Tocco also trained several heavyweights who were legendary during the time before Tyson.

Tocco claims Sonny Liston as the most powerful hitter he’s ever trained

Tocco, in addition to training Tyson early on, also trained Larry Holmes, Earnie Savers, and, most importantly, Sonny Liston.

In some ways, Liston was known as the original feared fighter in the sport, and Tocco even said that Liston had a terrifying stare that would make his opponents shirk, labeling him a ‘killing machine’.

Tocco went so far as to say that Liston is the strongest fighter he has trained, and he snubbed Tyson and all of his other incredible powerful fighters.

And despite being snubbed, ‘Iron’ Mike somewhat agreed with the trainer’s comments, labeling Liston as ‘the scariest fighter to ever live’.

“Sonny Liston is the scariest fighter to ever live,&#8221Tyson told Shaq on The Big Podcast.

“There’s no fighter like Sonny Liston. Sonny Liston is a monster,&#8221He continued.
