Lisa Ashton’s aspirations of beating Michael Smith and why Beau Greaves is the ‘female Luk

Lisa Ashton, one of the pioneers in women’s darts, is looking to add to her legacy by winning on the Alexandra Palace Stage this December. Ashton will be making her fifth appearance at the historic stage, following defeats to Jan Dekker, Adam Hunt, Ron Meuelenkamp, and Ryan Meikle.
Ashton had a fantastic year at the oche, winning the Women’s World Matchplay, Blackpool. She defeated Beau Greaves, and then Fallon Sherrock, on her way to victory.

Ashton’s win on her home turf was the “bucket-list” victory that rekindled her confidence in being able to compete with the very best of the sport.

She hopes to create another historical moment if, on Ally Pally’s stage, she can beat former world champ Smith. And she will rely on her fans to help.
Ashton explained, “It shows that I am still able to push the children and my game is returning because my form comes at the right moment.”
“As long I can still compete, I’m happy. It’s pushing my games back up and I’m grateful I can push them too.”
“It’s lovely to hear people shouting out your name. And then, as they say, when you get a low score and feel bad, you can hear them and it all goes away.
